My suggestions

 
 

1) For cooking pasta you need a pot with 3 or 4 litres of water with a table-spoon of salt when it boils put spaghetti in , (for example) don't break spaghetti, if it is not requested by recipies they become soft with hot water; it will be better to use a hight pot.

2) When you brown garlic or chilli in olive oil, don't burns it because it will change the taste.

3) Tomatoes for pasta or soups must be always ripe.
